Best Places To Meet Your Summer Romance
It's summertime and as the temperatures heat up, so do our thoughts about love and sex. Summer is a great time to meet someone new and enjoy the pleasures of a new romance. If you're sitting around the house daydreaming about romance, it's time to get off the sofa and get out and join the party.
We've got ten great places for you to meet your summer romance.
You don't have to look like a Sports Illustrated super model to have fun at the beach. All you have to do is get there. You can go and spend the day playing in the water and on the sand. Or you can go and read a book in the shade of an umbrella while listening to the relaxing sounds of waves lapping against the shore. Take a walk in the waves. Say "hi" to every person and every puppy that you meet. You just never know when you might find "the one."
2. Ball Game
You don't have to spend a fortune on tickets for a MLB game. (But if you look, you may find some cheap tickets in the outfield.) It's all about atmosphere, and an MLB game is all about enjoying a summer evening with friends. The game is slow and relaxing. There's singing during the seventh inning stretch and ice cream. No MLB near you? Watch a college baseball game on campus or try a rec league game in a local park.
School is in for summer! It's the perfect time of year to explore something that you've always wanted to try, but never thought you'd get the chance. Take a sailing, surfing or paddleboarding class at the beach. Or try your hand at gourmet cooking. Sign up for a photography class and go on a safari. The options are endless.
4. Girls' Night Out
You don't have to hang with the boys to meet men. Plan a night out with your friends, and when you're having all that fun, you'll be sure to draw the attention of people who want to join in.
5. Farmers Market
You don't have to be a couple to enjoy a Farmers Market. In fact, you're more likely to interact and enjoy the vendors if you're alone. Take samples and ask questions. You may discover something (or someone) completely new.
6. Outdoor Movies
It's hard to find a local drive-in theatre -- but there are parks everywhere that are screening movies on the sides of buildings (and monuments in at least one Hollywood cemetery) in almost every city. Find out when your favorite guilty pleasure is showing -- and go.
7. Dog Park
It's a well-known fact that a man with a baby carriage is a chick magnet. And a girl with a dog on the other end of her leash is going to attract a lot of attention too. Make sure you and your pooch are friendly and outgoing.
There's one thing you should know about volunteering -- you will always get in return more than you are able to give. You'll find that giving of your time is more fun than just giving money. Find a charity that means something to you -- and volunteer.
9. Amusement Park
It's a place that's meant for people to have fun. Isn't that the perfect time and place to meet someone special? And you'll know exactly where to go on the anniversary of your first date.
10. Ice Cream Store
Let's face it, now that it stays light out so late, there's no reason to hang around in the house catching up on reruns. Get out and take a stroll up the street to your favorite ice cream spot or Fro Yo stand. It's the perfect cool treat on a hot summer night. And you never know who you might meet while you're standing in line.
