Let's face it. Some of us start to babble when we're really
nervous, and being in the bedroom for the first time with a new partner, can cause anyone to come down with the worst case of "verbal diarrhea" ever.
You really don't have to carry on a real
conversation with someone during sex. Once the activity has begun, you can let
your focus be on pleasure. There isn't any reason to comment on the activities
that are taking place, but if you do…you need to know that there are some
things that you really shouldn't say.
We've put together a list of the top ten things you
shouldn't ever say in bed. Whether you're on your first date or your fiftieth
anniversary with your partner, here are a few things you shouldn't ever say:
10. I really
just want to cuddle.
If your partner is aroused, this statement will probably not
be welcomed with a great deal of compassion. Make a decision about whether or
not you want to have sex before you get into bed.
9. Don't
worry. You'll do better next time.
It's a bit of an underhanded compliment, and one that can
probably ensure that there won't be a "next time."
8. We should
turn off the lights.
Do you have body image issues? Or is there something on your
partner that you find unsightly. Touch, taste, sight, sound and smell are so
important to sexual arousal. Being able to see your partner's pleasure is half
the fun.
7. I have a
confession…
Okay. The time for confessions about ANYTHING is not when
you're naked and aroused. Put your clothes back on, and let's talk.
6. When would
you like to meet my parents?
If you and your partner are in a new relationship, this kind
of talk can scare them off quickly. If you're in a long-term relationship, no
one wants to talk about their family during sex. It's not hot.
5. You woke
me up for that?
This little insult may be self-explanatory, and a good way to wake up
alone.
4. You're
almost as good as my ex.
You shouldn't mention your ex at all in the bedroom, by name
or by action.
3. But
that's my cats pillow!
There's nothing you can say that will make a man get dressed
and get out of your house faster. Not even yelling "fire"!
2. I can't
find the remote. Can you change the channel?
Seriously? You're watching television when you could be
having sex? You may have bigger problems than not knowing what to say in bed.
1. Are you
through?
Sex is a participation sport, the only way you'll end up
asking a question like this is if you're not participating.
