Everyone knows that the holidays were a stressful time of year. Now that they’re gone, let’s re-focus by channeling all that stress into positive energy. Below are 7 tantric secrets to heat things up and give a truly lasting impression for your partner, here’s how:

1. Breathe! Most women lose their orgasm because they forget to exhale. Remember the “OoooHHHs”, “AHHHs” and OMGs!

2. Be open to new ideas, loosen up and relax. Pick a new position to try with your lover and let your imagination run wild. Try a Nuru massage. It’s an ancient Japanese form of body on body passion that’s sure to loosen you up. Wet’s Nuru Massage Gel Kit comes complete with massage gel, a protective sheet and an instructional DVD.

3. Surrender to your body’s emotions and feelings: Try a steamy shower or aromatic bath together and watch the sparks fly. Massage each other with Wet® Platinum® Silicone-Based Lubricant™ -- It works in the water, it’s guaranteed never to get sticky and it never dries so it leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. Caution: Very Slippery!

4. Connect with your partner: Try a blindfold and just feel each other; you’ll be more in tune with touch and profoundly deepen your connection.

5. Work out your sexual muscles: Doing so will help you gain control, make sex more exciting and give you greater control over your orgasms. Yoga and Pilates for your pelvic floor will bring the “umph” back into your life.

6. Hydrate and energize by integrating the kitchen/pantry: Find foods and liquids in the kitchen to put a glow back into sex. Fresh fruit like berries, kiwi, bananas, and mangoes are just a start or, try a Wet® Flavored® Gel Lubricant™ like watermelon, kiwi strawberry and wild blueberry, they are sugar-free, colorless, non-staining, kosher and latex friendly.

7. Quit the doldrums of sex and make the event as special as can be. Choose a day of the week or month that you can turn your attention to your partners every need. This will be the sacred moment that can intensify your orgasm. And, don’t forget to heat things up with Wet® Warming® Gel Lubricant™—especially when it’s snowing outside.Wet Personal Lubricantshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03396626900569264481noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4417525343147547673.post-33095796454531644282015-01-26T12:19:00.002-08:002015-01-28T11:07:07.459-08:00New Year’s Health Resolution --Start SEXercising!

Was your New Year’s resolution to start exercising? Instead, start SEXercising! Sex burns up about five calories per minute and helps tighten your pelvic floor, improve bladder control and intensify the big ‘O’. Sex is a great workout following child birth or during peri-menopause to tighten those pelvic floor muscles. Remember, you may be feeling dry ‘down there’, so keep WET® Platinum® Premium Concentrated Lubricant™ Serum on hand to use just before sex to ease penetration and provide maximum pleasure. First, try using this silky smooth silicone lube as an all over massage lotion to jump start the New Year. Because it’s silicone, it won’t break down in water so the shower or bath is also a great place to get the party started. Caution: Very slippery!Wet Personal Lubricantshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03396626900569264481noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4417525343147547673.post-76490235597458072452015-01-26T12:16:00.001-08:002015-01-26T12:16:55.073-08:00Breast Cancer: My story

Sometimes I can’t believe I ever had breast cancer. That’s what I want to tell all those sisters that heard the same words as I did, “its cancer/it’s malignant!” Because I feel absolutely GREAT today, I made it through that dark tunnel to a light on the other side I never dreamt possible. So, hang in there breast cancer survivors—life gets better and better –just be strong and take it one step at a time.

I had been going to a very well respected and recommended breast surgeon diligently every 6 months for years. It was strange that I felt a small lump under my arm and close to my right breast and scheduled a special visit for the Dr. to examine it. She assured me not to worry that she’s seen this type of cyst throughout her entire career and it was absolutely benign. She kept telling me it was nothing--for four years—and I listened, until it got so big that I couldn’t shave under my arm without nicking the lump and bleeding.

So, on January 5, 2010 I had elective surgery to remove the lump. Then I received that dreaded call…the one from the Dr. saying, “this is the worst mistake, I’ve ever made. The lump was malignant and we need to go back in and remove the lymph nodes to ensure it hasn’t spread.” The next week, I was under the knife once again and found myself thrown into a new world I had no experience with at all. The dreaded word I had feared all my life—with every routine mammogram, ultrasound and mammogram. CANCER!

I am a “baby boomer workaholic”. I run my own public relations agency in Houston, and I wasn’t prepared for the physical and emotional wallop that came following my breast cancer diagnosis. After undergoing a lumpectomy, lymph node removal surgery and six weeks of radiation, I was exhausted. But the tipping point came after I started a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) treatment-Tamoxifen, which caused my estrogen levels to decrease. I was robbed of all of my estrogen. I had this horrible depression and normally I’m the happiest person in the world.

I immediately experienced a depression I had never known—stopped eating and lost a tremendous amount of weight. At 4’10” and 94lbs my entire life –I didn’t have much to lose. But my weight steadily declined along with my strength and that was tough. It was even tougher because my life needed to remain ‘business as usual’-- I didn’t want my clients or employees to know I was undergoing treatment –I didn’t want them to know I had cancer-- as I was certain they wouldn’t understand and I believed they would think I couldn’t get the job done. So, I continued working and traveling at the same pace.

Passing out at a client appointment and a day in the ER at M.D. Anderson was absolutely the tipping point. It served as my wake-up call. Changes needed to be made. And needed to be made fast. I was dying. Literally. My weight was down to 78 lbs and I had no strength to move. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a ghost—a ghost that was so boney and dried out-- I was embarrassed. Immediate action needed to be taken.

In addition to stopping the SERM treatment (with my doctor’s approval), I knew the best way to get out of the funk was to stay focused on the future, my wonderful children, my career and to improve my diet. I worked my way through it and just started eating well. Food was important—I ate a lot to get my strength back up. I had juice daily and filled up on fresh fruits and vegetables. Today, 3 years later I am finally back to myself-- I’m healthy, feel great and I no longer suffer from depression. I have time to relax. Once or twice a year I go to a yoga retreat, sit quietly and contemplate life. The diagnosis has made me think maybe there is something else I need to do in life.

I am now 55 years old and my journey thank goodness has a wonderful ending—or beginning I should say-- as I met my husband in the hospital and he asked me to marry him during treatment –UNBELIEVABLE!

Suzy’s top tips for refueling your tank:

Chug your greens and fruits. I bought a Vita-Mix and make vitalizing juice concoctions with organic kale, tomatoes, cucumbers and celery, strawberries, banana, apple, flax and chia seeds. “I pretty much through everything into it and get stronger the more I drink.”

Cut out white foods. “I didn’t have the energy to think. I had brain fog because I was exhausted.” My remedy: Eat lean chicken and fish, sweet potatoes, legumes, vegetables and fruit.

Guzzle H20. Cancer treatments, such as radiation, can leave you dehydrated. I carry a bottle of water with me at all times to help me stay refreshed.

Try Replens Moisturizer. The over-the-counter, non-hormonal solution to one of the most common and painful side effects of cancer treatment --vaginal dryness and atrophy. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and drugs like Tamoxifen, Raloxifene, and Aromatase inhibitors, cause dryness all over—the face, eyes, body and vagina. Replens is available at every drug store and is the only alternative to hormone therapy for us cancer survivors.

Aquaphor is terrific to heal sores from radiation, dry lips, etc.

Use a good silicone Lubricant to ease sex—try Wet® Platinum® just before sex because Cancer, surgery and treatments can affect sexuality, causing side effects like difficulty with arousal, loss of desire and inability to achieve orgasm. Pain sex can also be an issue due to dryness. But, know that help can be as close as the neighborhood pharmacy or online shopping cart.

M.D. Anderson reports, “Women can use a water-based or silicone-based lubricant during sex or use a vaginal moisturizer to counter dryness or tightness in the vagina caused by cancer treatment. If the lubricants and moisturizers don’t help, another option is low-dose vaginal estrogen. For women who have had radiation therapy to the pelvic region, a vaginal dilator can reduce vaginal scarring or shrinking.”

Think of Soul Source dilators as vaginal physical therapy help manage some of the side effects of chemotherapy by gently stretching the vaginal tissue, gradually making it more elastic and flexible over time. Remember, if you are using a silicone dilator, you want to use Wet’s water-based lube called, Wet® Original® Gel Lubricant, It’s also paraben-free, and kosher!

Learn balance: take walks, baths, try yoga or meditation

Learn about supplements and helpful meds to get you back on track. Vitamin –D, Curamin (BCM-95), fish oil. There’s nothing wrong with asking your doctor about taking an anti-depressant to repair those wires that fell out of place during the trauma. Effexor helps with hot flashes too brought on my cancer treatment and early menopause. Personally, I was unable to take Effexor as it caused extreme nausea—so work with your doctor to find the one that’s best for you. Lexapro worked wonders for me and there is absolutely no shame in seeking Rx help.

Laugh a lot. I’m talkin’, Belly laugh! Have fun and surround yourself with positive energy. Lose the negative forces .

Hang in there. Take every day as it comes and try to focus on the wonderful blessings in life—our family, friends and work—don’t let the brain jabber be all about dying. Remember it’s all about living and loving—because we are still here!

As you get older, any pressure on the bladder, such as sneezing, laughing, or jogging, or having SEX, may cause embarrassment, like leaking urine involuntarily…how unromantic! If you accidentally leak, you may have stress incontinence, which occurs when the muscles and tissue that help support the bladder become weak. This most commonly affects women in mid-life, after childbirth or when there is a drop in estrogen. It also affects both men and women during and after cancer treatment, as the nerves and muscles used to control urine flow can be affected. For men, removal of the prostate can impact the bladder’s mechanism for holding urine.

If you suffer with bladder issues, don’t despair because there is hope. Just like your hamstrings or biceps, the muscle tone of the pelvic floor can be improved. By strengthening these muscles, you can not only improve or eliminate stress incontinence, you can also improve your sexual health and responsiveness as well. By developing an awareness of these muscles, you can learn to tone them, which can help if you are experiencing vaginal dryness, difficulty maintaining arousal, painful intercourse or the inability to orgasm. A simple exercise plan for your pelvic floor is all you need.

To start your exercise plan, squeeze the muscles of the pelvic floor as if you were going to stop the flow of urine. To get the hang of it, when you go to the bathroom, try stopping the flow of urine a few times to find the muscles you need. It is not recommended that you continue to practice this way after identifying the muscles since a frequent stop of the urine flow can affect the muscles of the bladder over time. Just use it is a guideline to find the muscles. You can then do sets of 10 repetitions of squeezing and holding for 3 seconds at a time -- just as you would at the gym.

Strengthening your pelvic floor also intensifies the experience of orgasm. It will be your new favorite workout! To lessen friction, irritation and pressure during sex, be sure to use a top quality lubricant like Wet® Platinum® during foreplay and intercourse. It doesn’t absorb into the skin or get sticky like most water-based lubricants, and it will last for hours without needing to re-apply.

These tricks are a treat for you both. Pick one or two and cast a romantic spell on your partner this weekend.

1. Ask about their day. Be sure to listen to the answers. Don’t try to fix anything. Just listen.

2. Give a foot rub while you are sitting on the couch together—Inttimo by Wet™ Aromatherapy Massage & Bath Oil Invigorate™ with refreshing eucalyptus & citrus works wonders on tired feet.

3. Leave notes for your partner that shows them you are thinking of them. Short and sweet or descriptive and sexy.

4. Public displays of affection can be hot and showing the world you are together will make your lover feel special. Just be sure it’s within the comfort range of your partner and be respectful those around you.

5. Leave a bottle of Wet® Flavored™ Kiwi Strawberry™ lubricant where your lover can find it and when they ask about it, you tell them you’d like your treat now!

6. Body-on-Body Massage...Have you tried Nuru massage? Nuru is a sensual Japanese technique where both partners are completely nude and use full body contact to perform the massage with a thick, ultra-slippery, sexy gel like Wet® Nuru Massage Gel. Learn How to Nuru on Wet’s YouTube Channel.

7. Shower together. Take time to clean every inch of your partner’s body and let them do the same for you. Wet® Platinum® Premium Lubricant is perfect when getting wet together because it doesn’t break down in water…just remember to use caution as Wet Platinum is extremely slippery.

8. Go shopping together. Surprise them and swing by your local adult specialty boutique. Pick out a new toy and a bottle of Wet® Ecstasy® Xtra Cooling Lubricant™. When you dab a few drops over your partner’s erogenous zones then gently blow on those areas, you’ll send gentle shivers of anticipation up your lover’s spine.

9. Tell them you love how they kiss. This is a definite turn on for many.

10. Wake up your partner’s sexual appetite by cooking together. Standing close together and feeding each other as you do can be very erotic. You can also go straight to dessert with Wet® Fun Flavors® Warming, Flavored, Massage, and Lubricant all-in-one!

We know it’s Halloween but doing these things will potentially scare that love interest away faster than you can say Trick-or-Treat.

1. Saying “I love you” too soon. It takes time to get to know someone and really value them. You might feel like you’re in love but that might be lust talking. Wait until you know for sure.

2. Asking to meet their parents or children. It’s usually best to let someone choose when this is appropriate. People are naturally protective of their inner circle. Don’t force the issue in a new relationship.

3. Arguing against the things they are passionate about like political views or being vegan. If you don’t agree on some fundamental things, it’s time to decide if it’s going to be a big turn off down the road or if it’s something you can learn to live with.

4. Constantly talking about your ex (either positively or negatively). Nobody wants to feel like they are being compared to someone else.

5. Only talking about yourself. Most people want to know that you are interested in what is going on with them. Take time to find out each time you are together.

6. Insisting on moving in together or leaving bridal magazines all over the house. Let the relationship happen naturally. Things will fall into place if it is meant to be.

7. Going shopping or out to eat and expecting the other person to pay for everything, every time…If this is something that is important for you, it needs to be agreed upon in the very beginning of the relationship.

8. Texting or sexting your lover non-stop. How can they miss you if you won’t go away?

9. Talk about having kids and how many. This one is tricky. It is definitely important to talk about kids if you are set on having a certain number within a certain time frame. You need to determine if a potential mate has goals similar to yours. Just try to find a way to do it that doesn’t make it sound like you need to have them right now!

10. Judging their friends or family when you haven’t met them yet. Don’t let gossip or things you see on Facebook determine your opinion of someone you don’t know. If a person is important to your new love, they are probably going to be important to you going forward. Give them the benefit of the doubt in the beginning. Oh, and don't change your Facebook status too early either. Awkward.
What you weren’t taught in school…updated information to keep your love life safe and happy.

Summer has come and gone and students are back in school. Most likely it’s been awhile since you had a Sex Ed course and times have changed. Let’s face it—your information is old school!

New York psychiatrist and sex therapist Madeleine Castellanos, MD, offers updated, “new school” information that everyone should know to stay in the safe sex zone:

• According to the CDC, nearly half of the 19 million new STDs contracted each year are among young people aged 15–24 years (2011).

• Oral sex is not considered ‘safe sex.’ HIV, HPV, herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis may all be transmitted via oral sex. In addition, a 2011 study found that the proportion of oropharyngeal cancers related to HPV increased from 16.3% to 71.7% between 1984 and 2004.

• Make oral sex safer by using a flavored condom like DKT’s Prudence brand condoms, which offer a wide variety of flavors and scents (banana, watermelon, strawberry, grape, chocolate and more) guaranteed to tickle your taste buds as well as your partner’s fancy!

• More than $8 billion is spent each year to diagnose and treat STIs and their complications, not including HIV (Guttmacher Institute). STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) are definitely out there. Protect yourself from getting them and/or spreading them.

• Oil and latex do not mix—so using petroleum jelly, baby oil, moisturizers or everyday kitchen oils with a condom can cause the latex to break down and increases your chance of breakage and infection. Wet® Platinum® Premium Silicone Lubricant and Wet® Light® Liquid Lubricant are both latex-friendly. When used correctly, Wet lube also helps to reduce excess friction, thus lessening the risk of tears.

• That funky smell down there may have nothing to do with hygiene! A number of everyday triggers, including menstruation, pregnancy, intercourse or medications, can upset the delicate vaginal ecosystem and elevate pH, causing an odor, increase or change in discharge, or a bacterial infection. Fragrance sprays, wipes and pads just mask the problem. RepHresh Gel keeps the pH balanced--an important tool in decreasing chances of bacterial vaginosis, and eliminating that “fishy” odor by treating the root cause.

Wet hopes these tips from sex therapist, MD and psychotherapist, Dr. Madeleine Castellanos will keep your love life safe and intimate this school year.Wet Personal Lubricantshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03396626900569264481noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4417525343147547673.post-63694116396247610422014-09-04T11:48:00.003-07:002014-09-04T11:48:52.705-07:00Did You Miss National Big "O" Day? Did you miss national orgasm day?

National Orgasm Day, July 31, 2014, has come and gone but we’re still celebrating and we want you to come with us! Joking aside, many, if not most of us, have too few orgasms. And it’s high time to fix that!

Did You Miss National Big "O" Day? Tips from The M.D.

Here are some great tips for putting the big “O” back on top as a national priority and enjoying bodacious orgasms on a regular basis. These points come from “The Sex M.D.,” Dr. Madeleine Castellanos, who is a respected author and sex therapist in New York. She says, “Our sexual functioning cannot be separated from our overall health and happiness.” In other words, good orgasms = good health!

Dr. C’s tips:

1) Getting to orgasm is easiest when you are relaxed and focused on what’s erotic for you.

2) Learning how to time your breathing can help you reach orgasm more easily.

3) Orgasms cause the release of increased DHEA which is what makes your skin glow and look younger.

4) Using Wet Platinum Premium Silicone Lubricant, accepted as a 510(k) medical device, makes great sex viable and long-lasting even in the shower. Caution: Very slippery!

5) Orgasms come in all sizes and intensities, so take the time to explore all the variations.

6) Even though orgasms are fantastic, the less you focus on them as a goal in sex, the more likely you are to heighten your arousal and actually reach orgasm.

7) Orgasms help a woman’s brain relax more profoundly than any other activity, even meditation.

8) If you aren’t getting regular orgasms from sexual activity, take matters into your own hands and masturbate so you can orgasm at least 3 times per week.

9) Using an intimate health and stimulation device strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, which are key to achieving healthy orgasms and also preventing incontinence.

Read more about the reasons doctor's recommend Wet Platinum.

I finally bought new bedroom furniture and as I was cleaning out my old chest of drawers, my underwear was splayed out on the bed, exposed for all to see. I had no idea my husband had asked my 20-something year old nephew to come by and help us move the furniture. To make matters worse, my 18 year-old daughter declares in front of everyone, “Mom, your underwear is so old! We need to go to a decent boutique and buy you some new ones.” I’ll admit defeat. It was time to step into this century. To say I was a bit embarrassed would be an understatement but what happened next took me from pink-faced mom to eggplant purple with a side of “let me die right here”.

The adventure to the lingerie store started out fine enough. My daughter decides she’s going to educate me on the styles that she and her contemporaries wear. Because you know, all teens think their parents live in a shell and have never heard of a thong, unless it’s worn on your feet. Sure, I know what a thong is. I personally prefer not to wear this type of butt-floss because I find them insanely uncomfortable. Aside from those, my imagination was limited to the full brief (hi Granny) or basic bikini underwear usually found at any large major discount retailer. Don’t ask me why, but I have always hated the word “panties”…it’s like the word “moist”. It just seems like a term that creeps out of a dark corner. My mom called them underpants so I went ultra-modern and called them undies at our house.

Meanwhile, back at the lingerie shop, as the sales clerk approaches us, my daughter says, “My mom’s undies are so outdated. It’s like she still has underwear from when I was born.” Ok, like I said, she’s 18, so possibly a bit of an over-exaggeration, but probably not that far off to be honest. The salesperson, let’s call her Jess, chuckles at this but, gratefully, acts unfazed. She breaks her code of silence by asking me four little words that bring most women to their knees. “What is your size?” Uhhhh…crickets here…uhhhh…size? “I have no idea. What sizes do they come in? Are they like S-M-L or are they in numbered sizes like 6-7-8-etc?”

“We carry both types of sizes” Jess says, “to make it easier.” Hmm, right, easier. I must still look dazed and confused, standing there biting my lip, trying to figure out what my size is. My sweet daughter, in her infinite wisdom, tries to help and explains: “Yeah, I doubt my mom is wearing the right size anyway and the size is probably so faded from too many trips through the washer and dryer, it’s not like we can just look at the tag to check.” (Insert visible eye-roll by daughter and possible twinge by Jess here.) “Hmmm, not wearing the right size” she says. Vertigo sets in. What does she mean by this statement? Is Mom wearing undies that are swimmingly too big or are they too small, since, yes, I may have gained a few pounds since buying my last pair of (dramatic pause) panties… there I said it! Either way, I am not enjoying where this conversation is going, either is the salesclerk. We get the size figured out, basically I am a size 6 or 7 depending on the style. Success!

She then asks me what I usually wear and leads me over to a display of different styles. Great, another decision. Style choice. It’s not getting any easier folks. Although I don’t wear large granny panties (Ooh, I said panties again! I am getting better at this), I do like my butt completely covered. Maybe it’s because I grew up in cold weather and the idea of having my butt cheeks hanging out makes me shiver. “Maybe it’s time for something new?” she goads. I’m sure she meant style-wise, but all of this decision making was raising a hackle or two. “Yeah, that’s why I’m here, wasn’t looking to buy old underwear.” Hey, I thought it was funny. Jess didn’t. She’s starting to lose her patience with me, but thankfully she continues because it is painfully clear that I still need help. The mannequins displayed in front of us are loaded with choices: Bikinis, V-kinis, Boy-Shorts, Hipsters, and Thongs in a variety of cuts like T-back, V-string, and G-string (in case you forgot, no way). And all of those come in rise options like Low Rise, Petite Low Rise, (yeah, not on my end), Original Rise, Midrise, and Retro, which is a polite way of saying “Your Nana Never Saw Her Naval” rise.

As my head begins spinning like plates balancing precariously on a pole, I realize I am going to have to try something on to be sure. The boy-shorts felt just like thongs to me, invading their way into the crack of my butt with ungodly force. The hipsters felt like they were not on all the way and I would want to keep tugging at them to pull them up, like a strapless evening gown beaten down by the inevitable gravity of the situation. Hipsters were out too. I didn’t like the feeling of them clinging desperately to my thighs. Disheartened, I slipped on a bikini style and discovered it is still one of my favorites. Relegating myself to the same-old, same-old, I went for one last pair, the v-kini. For those unfamiliar, it’s like a v-neck t-shirt only in bikini style. I like the v-kini style because it rides higher on the hip but still has some style to it making me suddenly, triumphantly feel like this excursion had not been for naught.

Then, Jess drops the next question. Sigh. More choices. “Do you prefer cotton, silk, lace, seamless or barely there panty so you can wear it under tight clothes?” Of course, the paranoia sets in. Is Jess inferring that my panty-line is showing? Grappling with my mind to formulate an answer, in one breath, I squeeze out an incredibly pointed set of questions that is sure to bring Jess to just the right pair for me. “Is there something with like a cotton-crotch area that is still pretty, some lace maybe or a waistband that has leopard print that would not have too many seams, or at least a little sexier? But I don’t want silk, they just feel too slippery to me, like my butt is swimming in a pool.” My daughter glares at me with that ’Mommm’ you’re embarrassing me kind of look….HEY KID, I am still a woman too you know! “You started it” is all I have to say to her.

Finally, I end up with a set of cotton v-kinis, one in every color with a bit of lace trim. I am sure Jess was relieved I had finally made a decision and a sizable purchase. Although this trip was a bit rough at the beginning, I didn’t die after all. And if I had died of embarrassment, at least I would have been buried in my new, fresh, clean, sexy, fun panties!
Lately there has been a proliferation of bad news: Deadlocked Washington legislators, corporate insolvency, war, famine, natural disaster, and the final airing of “How I Met Your Mother.” Thus, rather than deal with anything too serious in this column, I decided to be a little more light-hearted. The following is the result - an ode to the bond between men and their “manhood,” aimed primarily at our female readers.

To say, “Penises are attached to men,” is to simply state a fact. But saying, “Men are attached to their penises,” is to proclaim an absolute truth.

As you may already know, nothing is so prized a possession to the average male as his own penis. And while straight men have little or no interest in the external plumbing of their brethren (other than as a supporting character in a porno), they can become downright sentimental when pondering their close relationship to their own equipment. To put it bluntly, most men consider their penis to be their best friend. Sure, we are hugely attracted to women. And yes, we enjoy the hell out of spending an evening of football, hot wings and frosty brews with our buds. And true, our slipper-fetching Fido is among our favorite companions. But our true BFF is that roll of flesh we keep sequestered in our shorts.

And why is “cherish” the word we use to describe our penis? Three reasons: Loyalty, reliability and shared common interests. As long as we can remember, our penis has been there for us. Before we even understood its function as “party central,” we appreciated it as the visible symbol of our masculinity, the release valve for our bursting bladders, and a dandy way to practice our cursive in the snow. Then when puberty hit, and all our hormones executed a blitzkrieg of our nether regions, our penises were there to rise to the occasion. Suddenly the whole world of sexuality opened up for us, and it was our trusty tumescent friends who led the way. In times of loneliness, frustration or insomnia, it was our penises that helped us relieve our pent-up tensions. Participation in sports was a fine source of stress relief, but sadly not always convenient or available. Our trusty wieners, however, were ever-ready for action, even late at night and in inclement weather.

As I’m sure some of you are well aware, our affection is so great, that many of us even endow our endowment with a nickname. These monikers can run the gamut from whimsical (“Mr. Happy”) to blatantly boastful (“Sasquatch”). And so concerned are we about our units’ continued good health, that we faithfully endeavor to make certain our “little soldiers” get regular exercise. That’s just how considerate we guys are.

Now you may be asking yourself, “What about his testicles? He hasn’t even touched on them. What are they…chopped liver (I shudder at the very image)?” Well, the truth is, as much as we love and respect this secondary erogenous zone and sperm manufacturing facility, our balls are the “Achilles heel” of our genital compound. They are our weakest link; our most vulnerable spot. Truthfully, we are barely even cognizant of their existence until they are the unfortunate victim of a blunt force trauma. Then, however, their presence drowns out our awareness of virtually all the rest of our anatomy. So, while we wouldn’t want to part with them, the periodic pain associated with our family jewels prevents us from rhapsodizing about them as we do their neighbor to the north.

So you see, our fondness for our own penises cannot be overstated, and our allegiance to them should not be underestimated. And why would you be interested in any of this (optimistically hoping, of course, that you are - and haven’t been “put off” by my dissertation on “a dude and his dingus”)? Because despite our dogged devotion to our penises, there is an anatomical accoutrement over which you have exclusive dominion that we are even more obsessed with. I am referring to, of course…the vulva. We’re absolutely nutty about it. And luckily, so are our little pals. In fact, this popular destination is the top-rated gated community in which ten-out-of-ten female-seeking penises prefer to reside. Be it ever so warm and cozy, there’s no place like home.

On July 7th, The Playboy Radio Morning Show hosts Kevin Klein and Andrea Lowell provided a blow by blow commentary as three gorgeous models demonstrated the Nuru body-on-body Japanese massage technique on each other. Thank you, Hugh Hefner!

In the West, massage mainly involves hands-on-body, but not so with Nuru. In the East, they invented a more effective way to stimulate the nerves in the skin by exponentially multiplying the surfaces of touch. Two participants (or more). Totally nude. Coated with Wet® Nuru™ Body-on-Body Massage Gel. Get the picture? Body-on-body enjoyment is the ultimate erotic massage experience. The ultimate “contact high.”

Model #1 began by massaging Wet Nuru gel into her breasts. “I could watch that forever,” said host Andrea Lowell, who clearly thought Model #1 was doing a great job. Next, Model #2 poured the Wet product onto her own breasts and then onto Model #1's back and proceeded to administer “the rack massage,” in which she slid her breasts over the other girl's back, then over her butt, and pretty soon it was hard to tell who was giving and who was receiving the massage. Happy ending: A good time was had by all!

So we know summer is in full swing, but isn't it time to turn up the heat and give your lover a sensuous Nuru massage. What is Nuru Massage exactly? Nuru is a style of massage that originated in
Japan. It is a sensual massage between partners using full body
contact to relax the body and stimulate mutual sexual appetites, done with both partners fully nude, using a thick, ultra
slippery massage gel. Wet® Nuru™ Massage Gel is available in two
formulas, Original and Concentrate, both with moisturizing Aloe Vera,
Seaweed and Grapeseed Extracts and soothing Chamomile Flower extract.
These formulas are

Why Wet Platinum? Here are 10 of the top reasons to use Wet Platinum.

1. Wet Platinum Stays Wet Longer.
Wet Platinum is a silicone-based lubricant. Unlike water-based lubricants, silicone molecules are large and are not absorbed, so they remain on the surface of the skin. Because Wet Platinum contains no water, it does not evaporate either, giving you longer-lasting, slippery, friction-free love making and play sessions. There is no mood-breaking, stopping to re-apply necessary. Platinum is always slick, guaranteed never sticky, and doesn’t dry out.

2. Wet Platinum Makes Sex Better.
Vaginal dryness and anal sex without lube nearby, is sure to stop pleasurable intercourse in its tracks. At least one partner at this point may feel turned off and be thinking “I could really use some lubricant right now!” With the mood already at stake, you’re going to need something you can grab quick, apply, and be able to get your groove on. Wet Platinum is the best choice because it’s easy as 1, 2, and 3! Grab it, squeeze it, apply it and you’re ready to go. Absolutely no need to worry because Platinum gives you the perfect slippery glide, and won’t become messy, clumped up, dried out, or sticky. Platinum also won’t burn or disrupt your pH Balance. And since it won’t dry out, you just need a small amount. Apply Wet Platinum to your penis, vagina, sex toys*, and interior/exterior of your condom or anywhere else your heart desires, slip right in, work your magic and enjoy the ride.

*Please note that Wet Platinum is not recommended for use with silicone toys.

3. Wet Platinum is Safer.
A 2010 Study by Microbicides: Building Bridges in HIV Prevention, named the Use Of Lubricants, Unprotected Anal Sex and the Risk of HIV, compared five lubricants against each other (Astroglide, Elbow Grease, ID Glide, KY Jelly and Wet Platinum). A sixth product named PRÉ was used as a control. The study was looking for the safest lubricant that did the least amount of damage to cellular walls, during anal sex. Damage to cell walls during sex can cause tearing and increase the likelihood of transmission of STI's. The study concluded that "Wet Platinum and PRÉ were the safest. The hyperosmolar nature of the other lubricant gels was associated with cellular toxicity and may lead to increased risk of HIV infection." Wet was the only silicone-based lubricant in the study. The others were water-based. This and one other study examining the effects of sexual lubricants used in anal sex were presented in April at the International Microbicides Conference.

Safety Precaution: Wet Platinum is very slippery so take care to clean any spills immediately.

4. Wet Platinum Has Many Uses.
Dab it in your hair for some shine. Condition your skin and Latex Fetish Wear. Use it for vaginal and/or anal sex. Masturbate in the shower or in bed. Use a palm size amount to give your partner a sensual massage (and it won’t dry up!). Use it to get a really close shave, but be careful not to slip on it in the shower. Put a drop of Platinum on a sticking door or cabinet to stop the squeaking, or use it to untangle knotted bicycle or jewelry chains. Glide it over your body and slip easily in to your wetsuit. Detangle the tail and mane of your horse. The possibilities are endless!

5. Wet Platinum Uses the Highest Quality Ingredients and is a 510k Accepted Medical Device.
Wet Platinum uses ingredients that are non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism), gluten-free, vegan friendly, and contains only plant derived glycerin. Wet Platinum is an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) accepted, Class II medical device. It is also certified Kosher. That’s right! Platinum contains no animal-based ingredients and is manufactured and self-certified according to guidelines set forth by the Rabbinical Council of California.

6. No Smell. No Taste.
A common complaint about personal lubricants is the way they taste and/or smell.
We take this complaint seriously. While Wet Platinum is an accepted medical device, it does not smell or taste like an antiseptic or any other chemical. It’s completely odorless, has no taste and is considered harmless if ingested.

7. Doctor Recommended.
The Wet Platinum formula is non-irritating. Since it has no pH, it won’t disrupt a woman’s pH balance. Wet products are sampled in medical offices throughout the United States and Canada and have received stellar patient reviews and recommendations from medical doctors. Read more about why Wet is doctor recommended.

8. Available Everywhere.
Wet has been widely available in love boutiques since 1989. We understand that not everyone is comfortable visiting their local adult boutique and not all of us live in a city where adult boutiques exist. The adult boutiques do offer a wider selection of Wet products and other intimacy products so check them out if you have the opportunity. For your convenience, Wet is now widely available in all major pharmacies and mass market retailers across the United States and Canada, and is available online as well, with discreet shipping at www.buywet.com.

“Not a day goes by that I do not mention your products,” says Dr. Jacob Klein. “The availability in CVS and Walgreens has certainly helped.”

9. Can Be Used in Water.
There really is nothing better than hot sex in the shower. Besides installing handles on your shower walls to hold on to during your steamy sessions, the next essential item is a bottle of waterproof lubricant. Take silicone-based Wet Platinum in the shower with you, squirt some on your fingers, apply to self and/or partner and you’re ready to go. Wet Platinum can also be used in Jacuzzis, lakes, rivers, oceans, bathtubs, and swimming pools. The water will roll over the lube like a bead of water on a leaf. When you’re done and want to clean up just lather up and rinse off, or carry a package of baby wipes on you for fast efficient clean up.
Caution: Silicone lubricants will break down the silicone seals on your hot tubs, spas and pools over time so it’s best to use it sparingly.

We believe that companies are like individuals, each creating their own "Karma." Giving back has been paramount to us since our inception. Through our charitable giving program, we contribute to the work of more than 300 non-profit organizations worldwide.

Sex. It’s something we all do. It’s something we all think about. It’s something we all desire. But what happens when sex becomes painful or you just can’t get aroused?

For men, arousal disorders typically come in the form of failure to have or maintain an erection long enough for sex to occur. The solution is simple: Viagra.

For women the answer is not so easy. Women face a number of issues that can decrease her libido, making sex painful, irritating and quite frankly a chore. It’s a frustrating topic because the vast majority of reasons for a decreased libido are things out of a woman’s control: menopause, breast-feeding, disease, and side-effects of medications, to name a few. All these issues result in unenjoyable sex with their partner, which in turn leads to a lack of intimacy in their relationship(s), which in turn leads to having less sex. It’s a vicious cycle so serious that professions exist solely to solve it: marriage counselors, sex therapists, post-menopausal practitioners, medical doctors, and so forth and so on. We here at Wet decided to speak with some of these doctors, and were overwhelmed by their enthusiasm for our product and how it has helped their patients regain a new sense of intimacy in to their lives.

Here are the top 5 reasons Medical Professionals recommend Wet Personal Lubricant:

1. Wet is an over-the-counter solution for temporary relief from vaginal dryness. Vaginal dryness is a common sexual arousal disorder. The causes of vaginal dryness are numerous, with the most common being: menopause, breast-feeding, disease, medication side-effects, stress/anxiety, hormonal imbalances, and low self-esteem. When vaginal dryness occurs, and a lubricant is not applied to either party prior to penetration, the likely result is that sex will feel like sandpaper. When that happens, her muscles shut down and her vagina says “No More. Game Over”.

The good news is, this situation can be prevented and fixed.

Doctor Lauren Streicher, Associate Clinical Professor of OBGYN at Northwestern University’s Medical School and author of Love Sex Again, recommends a silicone-based lubricant as a solution for vaginal dryness during sex. “Silicone is slippery, long lasting, latex compatible and does not carry the risk of causing a vaginal yeast infection,” Streicher says. She recommends a silicone-based lubricant over a water-based lubricant, because it is longer lasting and less likely to cause irritation.

Dr. Erin Gertz, Instructor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai Hospital also recommends Wet Platinum for vaginal dryness. She tells us “I’ve recommended Wet to many of my menopausal patients and they love these lubricants. They are so happy to have a non-hormonal alternative for vaginal atrophy systems.”

2. Wet is an excellent choice for menopausal and breast-feeding women. Menopause can be an emotional time for women, not only because of the mood changes brought on by the vast decrease in her estrogen levels, but because she often believes it means the end of having a healthy sex life. Breast-feeding women also experience a decrease in her levels of estrogen, which often leads to the emergence of temporary menopausal like symptoms.

We discussed vaginal dryness above, which is an inevitable side effect of going through changes to estrogen levels. However, burning and painful intercourse are also hallmarks of decreased estrogen levels. Using a Wet Personal Lubricant that meets your needs will certainly help overcome these problems.

“I prefer the silicone-based lubricants for my post-menopausal and breast-feeding patients,” Dr. Stephanie Lee tells Wet. “I end up writing ‘Wet Platinum’ on pieces of paper and sending patients off on a search to their local pharmacy!”

3. Wet Brings Couples Closer Together. It doesn’t take a doctor’s advice to figure out that physical intimacy is an important part of any romantic relationship. When arousal disorders arise in either partner, it can create friction and feelings of grief. Every relationship experiences its ups and downs, but an arousal disorder can create long-lasting ‘down times’. Fortunately, Wet Lubricants, Inttimo by Wet™ Aromatherapy Massage and Bath Oils and Wet® Nuru™ Body-On-Body Massage Gel can help bring that spark back in to your life, to make you and your partner feel as good as new and feel closer than ever.

“Wet Lubricants products are a great ‘ice-breaker’ for patients that have arousal disorders to go home and try,” says Dr. Christine Isaacs.

Since Wet makes many products, ranging from silicone-based, water-based, hybrid (water + silicone), cooling, warming, anal and flavored lubricants, to Wet<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">® wOw Clitoral Arousal Gel<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>
“When my patients simply ask their partner to apply Wet Lubricant, that itself is a positive factor in helping many inhibited couples learn to make love to one another. It gives people permission to be openly sexual and be ‘daring’,” says Dr. Kenneth Pollock, Director of the Sexual Health Practice at New York Medical College.

4. Wet Is Available Everywhere. Wet has been widely available in love boutiques since 1989. We understand that not everyone is comfortable visiting their local adult boutique. And not all of us live in a city where adult boutiques exist. Wet is now available in all major pharmacies and mass market retailers across the United States and Canada. The adult boutiques offer a wider selection of Wet products and other intimacy products. Wherever you choose to go, you’ll find Wet there.
“Not a day goes by that I do not mention your products,” says Dr. Jacob Klein. “The availability in CVS and Walgreens has certainly helped.”

5. Wet is the best. Wet is worth it. Dr. Michael Goodman, pioneer of the development and advancement of Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery and author of MEN-opause, The Book For Men, tells Wet, “I LOVE your products and they are #1 on my list of recommended personal lubricants for my patients (as well as #1 off the shelf at home, but that is another matter). A major part of my practice involves sexual medicine, and I always counsel regarding external lubricants. Favorites are your 'Wet Original' and 'Wet Platinum'. I just bought a bottle of Wet Platinum and have it at my girlfriend’s house.”

Dr. Lauren Streicher recently appeared on The Steve Harvey Show, holding a bottle of Wet Platinum in her hands, recommending a silicone-based lubricant to the 40% of women who currently experience a sexual arousal disorder. She explains that “...while household products such as olive oil, baby oil or lotions may be more affordable, they are not recommended because of their potential for yeast infections, irritation and not being condom compatible. Cheap household items Are not designed to be used in or around the vagina.”

What it boils down to is you get what you pay for. Wet Lubricants can enhance your life. Dr. Colleen Swayze, board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist agrees. “Wet is a Godsend,” she says.

As a college girl, I’ve never really been a fan of having a bottle of lube in night stand. Somehow, I had it stuck in my head that pulling out lube in the heat of the moment would be a turn off. After all, getting wet is a natural bodily process - and admitting that your lubrication isn’t always up to par was kind of like admitting a biological defeat.

For a very long time, I was the kind of girl who could get wet just by brushing up against a hot guy at the bar. Then, after going on some allergy meds, my tropical paradise turned Sahara dry, and even my favorite vibrator produced barely more than a lick’s worth. As I started to journey into the lube section of the toy store, I realized there were many more options than met my little lube-virgin eyes. Suddenly, a world of possibility opened up, and I discovered all the many types and uses of lube!

Now that I’m happily off my allergy meds and my vagina is back to the flourishing jungle it once was, I still haven’t gotten rid of my lubricants. In fact, I’m still trying more and more, and finding more ways to use and love them! Whether you’re using it as an aid for dryness or a fun way to spice things up - there comes a time and a place in every gal’s sexscapades that a bottle of lube can come in handy! Here are some of my favorite reasons to reach for a bottle of lube - and why it is one sexy accessory that every girl should have in her naughty drawer!

Lube for Everyone!

Don’t be shy about reaching for lube if you’re needing a little extra glide, or just want to turn up the heat in the bedroom. Like me, you may be in your twenties, who thought that lube is for when you get older, have kids, and your parts aren’t working like they used to - but that’s not the case at all. There are a thousand reasons you may need a little extra lubrication. Maybe you are on a medication that dries up your sinuses, and guess what, your vagina too. Or maybe your partner is raring to go and it will take a few more minutes for you to catch up. Or maybe you’re just looking to try something new. Using lube doesn’t mean something is wrong with you, it just means you’ll get a little extra support, excitement, and stimulation when and where you need it. So lube up, let go, and start playing!

Flavored Lube

We usually think of lubricant as part of penetration, but lube doesn’t have to be on just your lady bits. Put it anywhere you want to be licked, sucked, and caressed - like your neckline, nipples, panty line, or other erogenous zones - to experiment with taste, touch, and sensation during foreplay. You’ll start to taste sweet and sexy, like an aphrodisiac was poured onto your body, waiting to be licked off and devoured. Your partner will be instantly attracted to the places you enjoy the most, and he won’t be able to stop himself from getting each and every flavor off of you. There’s nothing better than the sensation of your partner’s lips and tongue as they greedily search your body for more of your seductive, sweet taste. You’ll feel like you’re being served a-la-carte, like the most expensive desert at a 5-star restaurant in NYC, ready to be enjoyed in an erotic feast.

New Sensations

Lubricants with added sensation are a fabulous way to heat things up in the bedroom. Literally, they heat up or cool or tingle - they’re designed to. Regardless of your preference, they are designed to provide some extra stimulation and sensitivity that makes touch and sex feel even better. Lubricants with added sensation are designed to be used during sex but often, women find that having a warming or cooling sensation internally can be uncomfortable. Personally, I’d rather not feel like my vagina is a fire ant hill buy hey, some people are into it. If you cringe at the thought of warming or cooling, you can still use them externally on your clitoris, outer vaginal areas, or even on your nipples. Many arousal products can provide some extra stimulation and sensitivity, without being used internally. It is fun to experiment and switch things up with your partner - and sparking up a sensation storm is a very novel way to do it!

Big Toys and Big Men

Sometimes all the natural lubrication in the world isn’t going to get his fist and forearm of a penis into your delicate flower. The first time I ever reached for a bottle of lube was when I was faced with something that looked more like a toddler’s arm holding an apple than a penis. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Lubrication is the body’s natural response to arousal - and feeling wet actually makes you more aroused, which in turn makes your vagina expand. Just remember, the body has its limits. I don’t care how wet you think you are; your body is never naturally wet enough to prepare yourself for a freak of nature. Apply liberally to yourself and your partner before trying to fit a watermelon through a keyhole. Trust me, you and your vagina will thank lube in the morning.

Anal Adventures

If you’re diving into uncharted waters, you’re definitely going to want reach for lube, lube, and more lube!! The vagina is naturally self-lubricating, but the ass is not - so slather a hefty amount of lube on you and him or you and your toy, and keep applying it to both of you throughout your sexy time. Remember when you got your wisdom teeth out, and the doctor told you to take pain killers before you felt any pain? Yeah, it’s exactly like that. You want to be pro-active with your anal lubrication before your partner starts to feel like a painful #2. Lucky for anal lovers, there’s lubes made specifically for your back door adventures. Reach for a silicone-based lube, which tends be much smoother, long-lasting, and non-drying for the best results. Just be sure to lay down a towel refrain from using it with nice lingerie or silicone toys. Silicone can stain any material it comes in contact with (which means you’ll be throwing out that gorgeous chemise) and is known to melt silicone toys over time.
This year, Wet Personal Lubricants has partnered with Chicagoland HIV Testing Collaborative’s (CHTC) "Step Up. Get Tested." campaign by donating 100,000 Safe Sex Kits containing a condom and a sample of Wet Platinum Premium Silicone Lubricant. The Wet Safe Sex Kits will be handed out at mobile HIV testing units across the Chicago area June 5th through July 4th, 2014. The goal is to not only test at least 5,000 people every June, but to reduce the stigma and fear that surrounds HIV testing.

Last year, CHTC’s "Step Up. Get Tested." campaign made 40,000 contacts in one month and tested well over 5,000 people, giving away 100,000 Wet Safe Sex kits in the process. This campaign is one of the many HIV Testing and awareness campaigns happening in cities across America to mark this awareness day with activities that encourage people to get tested regularly for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. We believe everyone should say yes to the test!

“We’re proud to be the exclusive lubricant sponsor for Step Up. Get Tested.," said Michael Trigg, founder and CEO of Trigg Labs. “We hope our safe sex kits will increase public awareness to reduce the stigma associated with getting tested for HIV. It’s so important to get educated, tested, and to know your current HIV status. Information is power and with that information you can protect yourself and others and, if necessary, get the proper treatment and counseling to live long and healthy lives.”

GET TESTED!

The only way to know if you have HIV is to get tested. Testing is relatively simple. You can get an HIV test from your doctor or healthcare provider, community health center, Veteran’s health center, a local family planning clinic, and other many locations.
HIV testing is available FREE and ANONYMOUS in many places. For HIV testing resources visit: www.hivtest.cdc.gov
To learn more about HIV and the stages of the disease that lead to AIDS, visit the Center for Disease Control. www.cdc.gov/hiv

CONDOM SENSE!

Using a condom is a very effective way to prevent contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD) or infection (STI). The catch? Only Consistently + Correctly = Effectively

Condom Tips:

Check the expiration date!
Yes, they do have one. Look for it before you purchase the condoms and before you use each one to be sure that it hasn’t expired.

Buy condoms that fit properly.
Like us, condoms come in a variety of sizes. Condoms that are too tight are uncomfortable and don’t leave enough room for semen to burst in on the scene. Condoms that are too loose can hold air bubbles that can increase breakage. They can also slip off easily. For more details on condom sizes, go to http://www.condomdepot.com/reviews/best-condoms.cfm

Store condoms in a cool, dry place.
Latex can dry out and become brittle when it’s stored in summer heat or winter cold or when temperatures vary throughout the day. Your glove box or your wallet may seem like the most convenient option but they are not the best places for storing them.

Open the wrapper with your hands.
Sometimes they are tricky to open. It’s tempting to use your teeth or scissors. Teeth and any other sharp instrument should be avoided, as the risk of puncturing or tearing the condom is higher if you do.

Put the condom on before there is any genital to genital contact.
Any exchange of bodily fluids harbors the risk of transmission. This exchange can happen well before penetration so be sure you wrap it up before the action gets hot and heavy.

Lubrication is important!
Placing a drop of personal lubricant on the inside of the condom before you roll it on will enhance your enjoyment. Using lubricant generously on the outside of the condom will reduce friction and thereby reduce the risk of the condom breaking. Use an FDA approved Personal Lubricant such as Wet® Light®, Wet® Platinum®, and Wet® Uranus™ Silicone-Based. These have all been certified as 510(k) medical devices for use with condoms.

Be sure it is not inside out before you start.
Both the tip of the condom and the rolled edge should be pointing the same direction.

See illustration here: http://aidssupportgroupsaba.com/photographs/condom1.jpg

Do not unroll the condom before you put it on.
You must unroll the condom down the shaft all the way to the bottom. This can apply to toys too. Do not share toys with your partner unless you put a fresh condom on the toy in between uses.

Pinch the reservoir tip while you are rolling on the condom. Once the condom has been rolled on completely, be sure to squeeze out any air bubbles.

Hold on to the base of the condom when you pull out.
The muscles of the vagina and/or the rectum are strong. They might peel that condom right off.

Take it out with you to prevent spilling the contents on or in your partner.

Summer heat can turn fun days into "pHunky" days for many a vagina.

Aahhh..summertime! Long, hot days filled with warm weather fun…what could be better? But for some the heat and humidity are only contributing factors that pHunky smell down there. What causes this? An imbalance in pH factor. And what does an imbalanced pH have to do with it? And what exactly is pH?

For starters, the letters ‘pH’ are used to abbreviate, ‘potential hydrogen’ which, when elevated increases the acidity-level in the vagina. And no one likes to be unbalanced, the vagina included. When acidity-level or pH is too high, the conditions for ‘bad bacteria’ to breed become perfect and when this happens, the ‘good bacteria’ become outnumbered by the ‘bad bacteria’, causing that smelly odor, vaginal discharge, and itch. Fun times!

Unfortunately for females, there are a number of everyday triggers that may cause a vagina’s ecosystem to become unbalanced and the summer heat is merely one of the many irritations that can ruin a fun summer by the pool. Let’s examine a few more summer fun spoilers!

Menstruation: Yes, no one likes it when ‘Aunt Flo’ arrives, but at least unlike your mom’s sister, you usually know how long it will stick around. Even still, menstruating can increase the pH balance which many women know can be the trigger for an impending bacterial infection, and when you’ve got hot summer plans this can be a real downer.

Changes in estrogen levels due to Peri or Post-menopause: For those that are peri-menopausal, the fluctuations of estrogen further add to the pH woes, as decreased estrogen levels will cause an increase in pH. And well, the post-menopausal woman can expect even higher elevated pH levels. And let’s face it…who wants to be intimate when you’re feeling ‘pHunky?’

Low estrogren can also be caused by pregnancy, breast-feeding or even medications, yes, that includes birth control pills. And as we have already learned, low estrogen can often elevate the pH in the vaginal environment, again either bringing on the discomfort of discharge, odors, or even worse vaginal dryness, which we discussed before. Vaginal dryness can lead to painful intercourse.

Sexual intercourse: Oh, this is so unfair. After all, the entire purpose of having a sexy vagina is to have sex in the first place and that can upset the pH balance? Yes it can. That day after sex odor is caused by the semen which has left the vagina with a higher pH than before, allowing for the bacteria to multiply with as much abandon as you hopefully had a day earlier. Ugh.

So what to do? Do we just have to live with it? Some people will try to mask the problem by using sprays, wipes, or pads. But sorry to say, many of these have fragrances that can be harmful to delicate tissues. Thankfully, there is an over-the-counter solution from your drugstore. RepHresh Gel keeps the pH balanced—decreasing the chance of Bacterial Vaginosis, and eliminating that “fishy” odor by treating the root cause. And if estrogen levels have dropped leaving you with vaginal dryness, use a personal lubricant such as Wet Platinum Premium Silicone Lubricant. Because it is pure silicone and does not contain any water, it has no pH and it doesn’t dry out and can be used for even the longest marathon sex sessions.

Remember to see your doctor if you have any recurring odor.

Other Summertime tips:

She wore an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, polka-dot bikini – along with an itchy, burning bikini-line rash! Not only is razor rash unattractive, it’s also painful. Ease the heat buildup by wearing cotton panties and loose clothes. When shaving, use a new razor blade to get a close, clean shave and you can use Wet Platinum silicone-based lube instead of shaving cream for a super silky shave sans the bumps and burn.

Love that new pair of strappy sandals but hate the nasty blister it raises on your pinky toe? Fill a plastic bottle with water and tuck it into the too-tight area with the cap pointing up, then pop your bottle filled shoe in the freezer overnight. The water in the bottle will expand as it freezes, gently stretching the straps to provide a little extra wiggle room for those tender piggies. Once you’ve stretched them. Put a few drops of Wet Platinum on your toes to help keep friction at a minimum.

Just be sure you keep it inside your show as it may stain some fabrics.

As you are well-aware, men’s love affair with the female breast goes back centuries, perhaps to the beginning of time (before chomping on the apple, Adam may not have known the significance of Eve’s frontal accoutrements, but he knew what he liked). Guys go out of their way to get a glimpse of them at every opportunity, and spend obscene amounts of hard-earned cash just to watch nubile hotties bare their bounteous assets in seedy, sweaty, prurient palaces, ironically referred to as, “gentlemen’s clubs.” Such is our complete infatuation with your blessed bosom.

But why this udder devotion? And what specifically draws us to your mellifluous mammaries? Read on as I try to offer a little insight into mans’ magnificent obsession.

1) We like how your breasts look: Contrary to what you may think, regardless
of size, we find your boobs fascinating. Whether they’re large and luxurious or small and sporty, we’re hot for your hooters. And while individual men may have a preference for a particular size or shape, overwhelmingly we’re enticed by your charms, be they pendulous or pert, pouty or protuberant.

2) We like how they feel: It’s hard to say specifically why they feel so nice, but nonetheless they do. Touch them and feel for yourself. There’s nothing else quite like them. That’s why, given the opportunity, we can’t resist putting our hands (or other body parts) on them (with your consent, of course) whenever they happen to be in the neighborhood.

3) We like to watch them dance: Almost as much as seeing and touching them, we like to watch them in motion. The way they shake when you move, bobble when you walk, or bounce when you jump, commands our attention almost as much as a half-court shot at the buzzer (and you know how we love our basketball). And women jumping on trampolines…well, that just reaffirms our belief in Heaven.

4) We like how they work as a team: Some things are just meant to come in pairs: Socks, shoes, fang marks from your favorite Twilight hunk. And your “girls” are a member of this wonderfully co-dependent group. While they are individually lovely, together they create one of nature’s most awesome vistas – cleavage.

5) We like them as a pillow: Life is tough. And at the end of a day in the trenches of adulthood, nothing is as comforting a resting place for our weary heads, as the cushion of your bosom. Cradled in the calming warmth of your natural upholstery, we can relax and regroup, ready to face the world anew, our spirit magically restored.

6) We like them as a handle: Face it; there are some sexual positions where your breasts are perfectly placed to help us hold on as things heat up. And though we often don’t absolutely need to hold onto them to prevent us from falling off the bed, or worse, losing our rhythm, why leave them out of our love-play? After all, they’re a treasured part of your anatomy, and we don’t want them to feel lonely, neglected or ignored. Men are extraordinarily considerate that way.

7) We like them as an information system: Now, to your nipples. How we love them. Not only for their inherent beauty - perfectly accessorizing your fashionable frontage – but also for their incredible communication skills. When you’re clothed and we see them, they tell us you’re bra-less (or at least wearing a very sheer, sexy bra). When they stand erect they tell us either you’re experiencing a chill or are very happy to see us (or someone else), or both. And one thing’s for sure: when they talk, we listen!

8) We like their mystery: From the time we first become aware of them, breasts fascinate us – not only what we see – but what we don’t. Untold numbers of hours are spent imagining what those beautifully mysterious mounds under your clothing actually look like. And when we finally do get to behold them “in the flesh,” we are rarely disappointed. And afterward, though the particular mystery of what your breasts look like has been solved, there are billions more as-yet-unseen breasts for us to ponder and speculate about. Ahh, sweet mystery of life.

9) We like their curviness: Ideally anyway, men are angular, hard and defined. Our shape (when we’re “in shape,” that is) is not given to graceful curves or comforting cushiness. Women, on the other hand, are naturally more curvaceous – something we greatly appreciate. And the soft swell of your breasts perfectly enhance the rest of the feminine figure. In other words, you’re curvy where we’re flat…and viva la difference!

10) We like how they just plain make us feel better: I’m sure you’re aware of studies that have shown definitively that people who have pets live longer, healthier lives. What you may not know is that recent findings indicate that looking at breasts for as little as fifteen minutes a day actually has a similar, healthy and longevity-enhancing impact on men. Now, I’m certainly not comparing women’s breasts to our furry family friends – although we do like when either are nuzzled up against us or available for petting. But it’s exciting to learn that it is now scientifically proven that just beholding your up-top attributes on a daily basis can add years to our lives…in addition to adding a spring to our step. You just gotta love science!

Well, if you had any doubts about how strongly guys feel about your breasts, I hope I’ve eliminated them. We love ‘em, cherish ‘em, can’t get enough of ‘em. And luckily for us, they’re attached to one of the few things in this world that we love, value and desire even more than them – you.

Our culture has created a wealth of taboo subjects and masturbation is merely one of them. Whether wanting to discuss living out a fantasy together, trying a new sex position, experimenting with anal sex, or asking about getting tested for STDs, how does one broach the topic without sounding like you are unhappy with the present state of your relationship or without fearing rejection of your ideas?

In our last article “The Only Consent I Need Is My Own…”, we mention open communication and we say this often--open, honest communication drives intimacy. While it should be easy to discuss sex with your partner, it isn’t always so simple. Even couples who have been together a long time can find it difficult to bring up new topics since people’s needs change over time.

How do you bring up that saucy subject? Here are some tips to remember before you start the discussion:

1.Have a Goal: First be clear on your own goals for the topic and how you feel. Do some self-reflection to understand what it is you really want, need, or desire and know where you might want to end up before you begin. Stay focused on the topic. Don’t allow other issues to creep into the conversation.

2.Find the Right Place and Time: Try to wait until you are at home or somewhere private. If necessary, make a date or appointment to talk about it. Talking about sex in a public place may make your partner feel uncomfortable. It is better to do it somewhere that you can make eye contact and give it your full attention. In the car while driving is not a good time or place for this. Don’t start the conversation if it’s time for the kids to take a bath, or your partner just stepped into the house from a long day at work. Stress and exhaustion could lead you down a negative result when all you wanted was a clear, frank discussion about your wants and needs.

3.Use Neutral Language: Don’t use any confrontational language or finger pointing. Be sure any topic you bring up is in the nature of exploration and state up front that you are trying to make your wants, needs, and desires heard and that you will feel better in your relationship if you are allowed the opportunity.

4.Explain What You Want (and/or Don’t Want). Be specific. If you aren’t exactly sure what you want, now would be a good time to go through a yes, no, maybe list. What is that? Your new best friend. Check out one of our favorites from blogger SmartHotFun Becca. Ask your partner to fill out the chart as well. It is a quick way to determine what your playing field really is. Everyone is different in terms of what turns them on and what turns them off. The better you become at communicating these things to each other, the easier it is for them to help you fulfill them. Remember to respect what is a turn off to them.

5.Above All – Listen. Once the conversation is started, it is important that you listen with respect and wait before responding. Often miscommunications arise when one thinks they understand and jump in to explain and that makes people get defensive. Wait. Listen. Relax. And if you have chosen the right time, refrained from defensive or accusatory language, the discussion should go better.

Conversation starters:

In case you didn’t know, May is Masturbation Month and in
honor of this most excellent celebration, we decided to run a contest to find
the best euphemisms for one of our favorite pastimes. This led me down a path of
self-discovery.

I love masturbation as a pastime. It’s free, it’s safe
and it’s the one thing in your life where you have total say over when you want
it, where you want it, how you want it, and how long you want to do it.

Yes, it qualifies as a pastime, as many sex toy reviewers will attest. They spend whole days trying out all sorts of vibrators and accessories and write lengthy blogs raving about their favorites. Epiphora just blogged recently that she has back-up toys for her back-up toys.

Wikipedia defines masturbation as the sexual stimulation of one's own genitals. That could mean that you are stimulating yourself by yourself or you could be stimulating yourself while being intimate with someone else. There is an art to stimulating yourself and many people become highly skilled at it. Your partner can learn a lot about you from watching you master your craft. For the majority of women, clitoral stimulation is necessary to achieve orgasm. For some, it is physically impossible to climax with just penetration and the famed G-spot is not always easy to stimulate so many women “take it into their own hands” during intercourse to get the stimulation they need.

Pleasuring oneself by oneself used to be considered the height of taboo and in some cultures this is still a serious no-no but that doesn’t seem to stop so many people from enjoying themselves…literally. When I decided to write on this topic, I Googled it to get a deeper understanding of where we are on the subject. It was interesting to see that religious sites opining a variety of thoughts on masturbation popped up frequently. Many with healthier views than I would have imagined. There were also a slew of sites advocating the practice for health and pleasure. Mainstream publications such as Cosmopolitan, People, Glamour, Redbook, Women’s Health Magazine, and Men’s Health Magazine routinely discuss the topic in positive ways, yet, there remains a strong puritanical stance against the idea of masturbation and these publications are often criticized for their content. With all of this information at our fingertips, why do we still giggle like sixth graders at the phrase Jerkin’ the Gherkin?

We find the need to create euphemisms and expressions for
masturbation in order to even mention this strongly tabooed subject.
These euphemisms have been finding their way into pop culture for decades. Take
The Sex Pistols’ ‘Friggin’ in the Riggin’ for example, the song’s title is a
nod to a sailor’s self-delight and it includes another slang phrase commonly
used in the U.K., ‘Wanking in the Planking’. Those raucous young lads
were edgy. Euphemisms like these are still in use today because the topic
still makes us generally uncomfortable. This is why we came up with the Masturbation
May contest. We hope to help reduce the stigma associated with
masturbation.

Why the taboo? For one, religious thought has
historically been that masturbation goes against God’s plan for procreation.
That any spilled seed is wasted when the act of masturbation is performed. (It was thought that even vaginal secretions contained the seeds of life.) And
it was also commonly thought that masturbation was highly addictive.
Therefore, if masturbation was not ‘nipped in the bud’ so to speak, then it
could create all sorts of problems. If the masses were too busy
pleasuring themselves then they couldn’t become highly-functioning citizens
contributing to the greater good. Or, it was thought that if you are too
busy masturbating, then having sex for procreation may never happen. And we all
know how ‘under-populated’ the world is. Right?

Let’s face it, if it feels good, then, why not? The
stigma of masturbation seems to be inching its way towards greater acceptance
in this culture. But, while a majority of men have no problems with it,
it is still considered a tough subject for some. Maybe they got caught in the
act at a young age which resulted in fear and anxiety. But, while it is practically expected of most men, it is still considered a tough subject for some women. Some prefer to do it only in private, some with their partners, but make no mistake, women do it.

Discussing and encouraging self-pleasure can be daunting for
some, while other couples are completely open and honest about their
masturbation habits. As always, communication is the key for any healthy
sexual relationship. Your partner may have different needs than you do in
this arena and it is healthy to talk about it. Masturbating is an important
part of life and there are many benefits. When couples have been together for a
long time, it can manage the libido differences between partners. A heterosexual married man may partake in masturbation in order to get sexual release when his partner is unable to--due to recent childbirth, for example. For a new mother, masturbation is often the first type of sex she has after childbirth because of the fear or readiness of having penetrating sex too soon upon delivery.

For those not in a relationship or those who prefer to stay
celibate, it is a natural expression of self-love and a healthy outlet for
fantasies. Orgasms have been shown to reduce stress, decrease depression and
certainly help avoid STIs. For men, orgasms may even prevent prostate cancer!
All single people out there should be reaping the benefits of orgasms!

OK, in case you still want to giggle like a sixth
grader…some of the phrases submitted to our Masturbation May contest
included: Spank the monkey, Hit the clit, I’m off to give the kitty some
overdue attention, I’m going downstairs to stroke my ego, Buff the banana and
Burp the worm. And make no mistake, this is not a purely American thing. Many
other countries have their own euphemisms. The French say “Tirer la pipe”
which translates to pull the pipe, Mexican’s say, “Me fui a mi casa con
Manuela”, I went home with Manuela (my hand), and I love the German “Fünf gegen
einen”, five against one. Suffice it to say, they all mean the same
thing… “I’m off to…Polish the Pearl or Master
my Domain.”

Feel free to Google 'Masturbation' for yourself and start your
own self-discovery. Let’s see if we can get the topic trending and really
give it the attention it deserves.

Now’s the time to Spring clean our homes—and also our relationships.

“Whether you’re in a new relationship…or feel like you’ve been together forever, it’s time to take a step back and assess what’s working and what’s not,” says Madeleine Castellanos, MD, Manhattan relationship guru and sex therapist. “If something isn’t working, and you’re feeling less than connected to your partner you might try some simple refresher tips to help bring you and your partner closer together,” she advises.

Below are some insightful tips from Dr. Castellanos to spring clean your relationship and restore the sparks of passion. After all, Spring is the season of Amore…and love is in the air!

Find new interests together. Maybe you don’t do enough fun stuff together any more. Or maybe your outings have fallen into a rut. Take some time and find new activities a deux—a sport or a hobby like Argentine Tango, square dancing, or golf. Sometimes just making a simple choice for a regular “date night” can inspire new closeness.

Set aside time to fantasize. Share your fantasies with your partner or keep them to yourself. Bottom line: fantasizing is a great way to prime the pump for your heart and passion to soar. Don’t be afraid to push the envelope a little! There’s no judgment in the world of imagination.

Listen to your partner’s wants, needs and desires. You don’t have to fulfill all of them, but you do need to listen. Also, feel free to whisper sweet, spicy messages that you don’t usually say out loud. The ears are located close to the brain for a reason—so use that pathway to flip the “turn on” switch in your partner’s brain!

Get back into gazing into each other’s eyes. Taking a couple of minutes every day to do this can communicate your deepest feelings without words. It actually helps to align your heart and mind with your partner’s in the subtlest way. In other words, dare to stare!

Reach out and connect. A simple phone call at lunch to say, ‘I miss you’ can make your lover’s whole day; a sexy text message can prime you both for an evening of intimacy; and a meaningful touch on the arm or even hand-holding while walking the dog, can really restore your connection. Don’t underestimate the power of touch for physical, emotional, and sexual healing.

Get Organized with New Bedroom Supplies

Spring clean your bedroom routine. Stuck with the same-old/same-old between the sheets? Try something new, such as sexy lingerie, enticingly fragrant Inttimo by Wet™ aromatherapy massage and bath oils, and Wet® Flavored™ Gel Lubricants—which really add a new level of sizzle to a hum-drum bedroom routine.

Find fresh adventures together. Spring is the perfect time to celebrate love. Pack your weekend get-away bag and don’t forget to bring some romantic gifts, gastronomic delicacies, Wet® Platinum® lube (the long-lasting, condom-compatible type that never dries up or gets sticky), and a copy of Getaway Guide to the Great Sex Weekend by Dr. Pepper Schwartz. Also, take along Dr. Lauren Streicher’s newly published Love Sex Again!

Add some natural aphrodisiacs to heat up your life. Dark chocolate, hot chilies, garlic, oysters, pomegranates, and the Peruvian root Maca, are all known to be time-tested love-enhancers. Don’t hold back…feed them liberally to your mate, and you may become the main course!

So, now that the chill of winter is over and the coolness of spring is here you know what that means...the sizzling heat of summer is just around the corner. Why wait? Gear up for summer fun now, get busy, change routines, and get frisky.Wet Personal Lubricantshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03396626900569264481noreply@blogger.com0
