Rules Of Engagement: Dating Games 2012

There are a lot of myths that we all live by when it comes to dating. But one thing is for sure, no one enjoys it as much as they say they do. And we've developed a number of different "rules" about dating to make it just a little be more civilized.

For example, no one thinks they should accept a same day date invitation. It makes it seem as if you aren't as popular as your Facebook page leads you to believe. But do people really stick to that rule, or do they break it if they think that the personal making the invitation might be a bit of a catch.

And there isn't anyone who hasn't been surprised to realize that the photos that their date posted on the dating website were at least 10 years old…and photoshopped by a genius. We've all gone out on that date. The one that we wish that we could have back. That's why according to a new survey, most of us have "online stalked" a prospective date before going on with them. Just to be certain that what's being advertised is what we're really getting.

So, just what are the rules of engagement for the dating games in 2012? Check out this new survey from eHarmony that was recently featured on the Huffington

For Your Viewing Pleasure, Let The Games Begin

It's time for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Your relationship with the games over the next few weeks will feel like just like a romance. You will be thrilled by the incredible competition, and heartbroken by some of the results. No matter what, you can't break up with the Olympics because the games don't just determine the best in the world—they make history. Don't forget all the rock-hard bodies that will be on display during the games. You won't want to miss a moment of the competition.

Move it!
Use the Olympics to get inspired to get into better shape. Being fit has been shown to lead to a better sex life. Improving your fitness will increase your endurance -- you'll last longer, add strength -- so you'll be able to engage in more intriguing sexual positions, and improve your flexibility -- which will add more to your repertoire between the sheets.

Party on!
You can't always travel to watch the Olympic Games in person, but you can still have fun and enjoy the thrill of competition. Check your local TV listings and invite friends over for a great time watching the world's best athletes. There will be lots of eye candy to lust after for both men and women. Get ethnic with the food, and serve beer from the host country.

Get inspired!
Olympic officials will reportedly hand out more than 150,000 condoms during the Olympics. That's 15 condoms per athlete, and 50,000 more than they gave out in Beijing four years ago. One member of the US swim team estimates nearly 75% of the Olympians will engage in sexual activity during the Games. So what are you waiting for? Get going and have some gold medal winning sex!

Get it on!
You know that urban myth about how athletes are supposed to 'refrain before the big game'? It's just not true. Sex increases testosterone levels, which can cause an increase in strength, energy, and competitiveness. You don't have to be an Olympic athlete to get into the game.  Make a regular date with your partner for sex and see if you don't notice a difference in your energy levels.

Play games!
Ever fantasize about standing on top of the Olympic podium to collect your gold medal? Don't let your wicked imagination go to waste. Use the Olympic Games as inspiration for your own sex role playing games. Pretend you’re a Russian triathlete and she's a US gymnast. You don't speak the same language, but you can't keep your hands off each other. Find fun ways to communicate.

Are You Good In Bed?

It's a question you ask yourself occasionally. Mostly because you've heard other people describe their lovers that way.

"He's sooooo good in bed," one of your friends says over drinks one night. And you nod your head, and act like you understand what she's talking about, but in truth, you don't have a clue. But it made you wonder.

Do people think you're good in bed? And what exactly makes someone good in bed? We've got a few ideas that might put your mind at ease when it comes to measuring how good or not so good you think you might be in the sack.

1.            Don't be shy.
A person who owns their own sexuality is always hot. Being active and intrigued by the act of sex is also a big turn-on.

2.            Be confident.
You know the old adage -- "Fake it until you make it." You know what you're doing and why you want to be in this situation, so now is not the time to act like you don't know what you're doing. Take charge. Assert yourself. Your partner will love it!

3.            Stay in the moment.
Life moves pretty fast these days and it's hard not to start planning your next move during your current activity. Unfortunately, your partner will notice if you're making a shopping list in your head while you're having sex. You're cheating yourself and your partner out of a wonderful experience. Slow down and just enjoy the moment.

4.            Be vocal.
Tell your partner exactly what you want. Use the dirty words and show your partner with their hands exactly how to touch you to turn you on. If you tell your partner what you want, he or she'll be more likely to be able to please you and you'll both benefit. Plus, if you're vocal about what you want, your partner is more likely to vocalize what he or she wants. And you'll be more likely to able to please them.

5.            Be open.
Be willing to try new things. If you get stuck in a rut, then say so. Take actions to do things in different ways. Try new positions. Do it in different locations. Take turns initiating sex. Share your fantasies with each other. It's all a part of creating emotional and physical intimacy.

Ten Things You Shouldn't Say In Bed

Let's face it. Some of us start to babble when we're really nervous, and being in the bedroom for the first time with a new partner, can cause anyone to come down with the worst case of "verbal diarrhea" ever.

You really don't have to carry on a real conversation with someone during sex. Once the activity has begun, you can let your focus be on pleasure. There isn't any reason to comment on the activities that are taking place, but if you do…you need to know that there are some things that you really shouldn't say.

We've put together a list of the top ten things you shouldn't ever say in bed. Whether you're on your first date or your fiftieth anniversary with your partner, here are a few things you shouldn't ever say:

10.         I really just want to cuddle.
If your partner is aroused, this statement will probably not be welcomed with a great deal of compassion. Make a decision about whether or not you want to have sex before you get into bed.

9.            Don't worry. You'll do better next time.
It's a bit of an underhanded compliment, and one that can probably ensure that there won't be a "next time."

8.            We should turn off the lights.
Do you have body image issues? Or is there something on your partner that you find unsightly. Touch, taste, sight, sound and smell are so important to sexual arousal. Being able to see your partner's pleasure is half the fun.

7.            I have a confession…
Okay. The time for confessions about ANYTHING is not when you're naked and aroused. Put your clothes back on, and let's talk.

6.            When would you like to meet my parents?
If you and your partner are in a new relationship, this kind of talk can scare them off quickly. If you're in a long-term relationship, no one wants to talk about their family during sex. It's not hot.

5.            You woke me up for that?
This little insult may be self-explanatory, and a good way to wake up alone.

4.            You're almost as good as my ex.
You shouldn't mention your ex at all in the bedroom, by name or by action.

3.            But that's my cats pillow!
There's nothing you can say that will make a man get dressed and get out of your house faster. Not even yelling "fire"!

2.            I can't find the remote. Can you change the channel?
Seriously? You're watching television when you could be having sex?  You may have bigger problems than not knowing what to say in bed.

1.            Are you through?
Sex is a participation sport, the only way you'll end up asking a question like this is if you're not participating.

How To Throw A Sexy Pool Or Beach Party

What's the hottest ticket in Las Vegas this summer? The pool parties that are being thrown all over time. They're very exclusive and a whole lot of fun. It’s a place where you can do just about anything you want.

So how do you bring the essence of Vegas into your pool party? We've got some ideas about how you can turn your pool party into the hottest ticket in town. Follow spot these easy tips to create a sexy pool party that will be fun for everyone.

Plan Ahead!
Make sure your pool is sparkling clean on the day of your party. If you're throwing a beach party, make sure that the beach where you are gathering is free of any debris. If you're not having the party at a private beach, you should also be aware of any unscheduled restrictions that might've been placed on the beach access. Tell your guests what the dress code is -- especially if there are any restrictions. And if you're planning on keeping the party going after dark, you may want to suggest they bring a cover up.

Have Food!
A beach or pool party seems like a perfect time for a barbeque. You can use a grill or better yet, if you're at the beach you can build a bonfire that'll be very romantic for after sunset twosomes. Ask your guests to bring a dish to pass so that you don't spend you whole day in the kitchen. Keep the menu light. Provide non-alcoholic beverages for your guests and keep plenty of ice and water on hand in case anyone gets overheated or dehydrated.

Play Games!
Everyone loves 'Marco Polo' and they know the rules. One person is selected to be "it" and keeps his eyes shut. Everyone else in the pool plays keep away from the designated person. He learns the location of others by shouting "Marco" whenever he surfaces. The others are required to shout "Polo".  The game requires a lot of underwater groping -- which can be a lot of fun. You might also set up a naughty Slip N' Slide on a patch of grass, and challenge your guests to an annual championship. A game of scantily-clad Twister could be very sexy too! Make sure there's music that everyone can enjoy.

Be Safe!
Make sure that you establish some basic safety rules about the water with your guests. Whether it's no running on the pool deck at home, or making sure that everyone who goes into the water at the beach has a buddy, you should make sure you put safety first. Make sure that you bring extra sunscreen, a first aid kit, plenty of towels and bug spray.

How To Talk Dirty In The Bedroom

You've heard it before. All most guys need to get turned on is for you to show up naked with a six-pack of beer.  We might be making huge generalizations for the sake of comedy with that statement, but more times than not, there is a lot of truth in it.

But if you really want to drive your man wild, there are a few tips that might help you become less tongue-tied in the bedroom. You don't have to talk like a trucker or be sexually experienced to be able to say things that will drive your man crazy. All you have to do is put the focus on his needs and wants and he'll go out of his mind. A little dirty talk can go a long way, and it's a great way to make sure that he pays attention to your desires.

Here are a few suggestions for dirty talk in the bedroom:

1. "What do you want me to do to you?"
Ask him what he wants. Some women get performance anxiety in sexual situations and are so worried that your partner is going to notice that you're five pounds overweight that they forget what they're doing and what makes a sexual moment intimate. Ask him what he wants you to do. You'll both be surprised when you can make his dreams come true.

2. "You drive me crazy!"
Give him compliments about his sexual prowess. Everyone wonders whether or not they're good in bed. Focus on one thing that he does well, and tell him. Making him more confident will enhance his performance.

3. "You have got a rockin' six-pack abs."
Give him a compliment. You know how much hearing something nice about your own body makes you feel great. He's been working out at the gym just hoping that you'd notice, now is the best time to tell him that he looks fine.

4. "Kiss me there again."
Tell him exactly what you want to do, exactly where you want him to do it. He will follow your direction and knowing that he knows "your secret" will make him feel special and deepen your bonds of intimacy.

5. "Do me now!"
Make sure that you're communicating where you are in your journey of pleasure. When you feel like you need to be satisfied, make sure you let him know that now is the time.

6. "That was fantastic!"
Don't miss out on the moments of happy afterglow when you can tell him how much he pleased you. This can lead to a great conversation and a lot of shared laughter. And most likely an invitation to do it again.
